The Colorado River

The Colorado River runs right through Grand Junction and it offers a wide variety of activities. Interestingly enough, the name "Grand" refers to the historical upper Colorado River until renamed in 1921, and the word "Junction" is from the joining of the Colorado and Gunnison rivers; hence the name Grand Junction.
Rafting is a very popular activity that the river offers. Small rapids and relatively calm water make this a great family affair. If you prefer to stay out of the water there is a outstanding river trail that takes you along the river. This is very popular among bikers and joggers because of the great beauty of nature and many enjoy strolling along the side of the river. It takes you through beautiful cottonwood forests where you will usually here the melody of local birds chirping away. The Colorado River definitely offer many fun and exciting things to do this upcoming summer.

Founded in 1925, Colorado Mesa University is a comprehensive regional public higher education institution offering liberal arts, professional, and technical programs at the master's, bachelor's, associate, and certificate levels. The education here is considered some of the best in the state. Not only are they recognized for academic excellence but they compete well in athletics. Redlands Mesa Golf Course

"Positioned beneath the slopes of jagged buttes south of Grand Junction, Colorado, in the shadow of the towering pink and red sandstone face of the Colorado National Monument, Redlands Mesa is like playing golf along the bottom of the Grand Canyon, with a couple of sojourns to the Garden of the Gods thrown in." --Golf Digest

If you're a golfer this is the place to be. The course is centered around the gorgeous  Colorado Monument. With scenery so spectacular it is easy to get distracted from the game. Though the scenery may attract the players, the seemingly perfect degree of difficulty in the course seems to keep them coming back for more.

Delectable Cuisine

Grand Junction isn't exactly  known as the food capital of the state but if you are looking for some exotic, delicious food Suehiro's would be the way to go. This has a Japanese/Hawaiian kind of feel when it comes to the atmosphere and food. Not only do they have extremely reasonable prices but their food could arguably be the most popular in town. They are gluten, kid, and vegan friendly so they have something to offer almost anyone. Their greatest praise probably comes from their sushi. They use the freshest fish and always seem to keep people coming back for more. If you are looking for something more exciting for your dining wants, this would be the place to go. http://www.suehirosushi.com/
