Best Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is here, so our minds have turned
To what time has taught us, to what we've learned:
We often focus all our thought
On shiny things we've shopped and bought.
We take our pleasure in material things,
Forgetting the pleasure that friendship brings.
If a lot of our stuff just vanished today,
We'd see the foundation of each happy day
Is special relationships, constant and true,
And that's when our thoughts go directly to you.
We wish you a Thanksgiving you'll never forget,
Full of love and joy—your best one yet!

Pumpkin Fest

Studt Farms is owned and operated by Ward and Jennifer Studt. Studt’s Pumpkin Patch and Corn Maze is one of the most fun and exciting parts of the farm! Most of the year, Ward and Jennifer grow grain crops and raise livestock. They farm corn, wheat, hay, and pinto beans in addition to pumpkins. They also run a large sheep operation known as Chacon Sheep Company. The crops along with the corn maze and pumpkins are planted in the spring and early summer. Pumpkins are one of the first fall crops to be harvested! They are also one of the most beautiful. Visiting the pumpkin patch give a tiny glimpse into the beauty of farm life. As any farmer knows, farming isn’t a job, it is a life. It is one of the most consuming ways to make a living yet one of the most rewarding. Ward and Jennifer enjoy getting to change their pace and focus from farming to others for one month each year. They enjoy watching the visitors bond with their family, enjoy the outdoors, and participate in quality, clean, and meaningful fun.

Winery Restaurant

Awarded one of Grand Junction’s “Best of the West,” The Winery Restaurant is a destination in and of itself—located downtown on historic Main Street, in the heart of Grand Junction’s cultural district.
The Winery Restaurant has been an icon among Western Slope restaurants for over thirty years. The restaurant makes its home in a 90 year old building that used to house a horse drawn carriage fire station. A gas lamp lit, vine canopied alley frames this romantic location perfectly. The beautifully remodeled building contains flowered stained glass windows, barn wood and bricks.
Steve Thoms acquired the restaurant in June of 2004 after taking a couple of years off from his previous restaurant. His mission at The Winery is simple: show the restaurant and its patrons the attention that they deserve. Use only top quality products and ingredients, and reestablish The Winery as the premiere restaurant in the Grand Junction area. The Winery provides a variety of steaks, chicken, pork and fresh seafood specials nightly in an atmosphere that cannot be rivaled anywhere.

From whitewater adventures to relaxing float trips, the Grand Junction area is a paradise for water lovers.
Maybe you've come to Grand Junction for a first-hand look at the Colorado's city's bounty of art galleries and distinctive boutiques, or perhaps you're here to sample a Riesling or Merlot from one of the region's esteemed wineries. There's plenty to see and do in this mountain-studded community on Colorado's Western Slope. But one of the most memorable ways to soak up the region's unparalleled beauty is by paddling through it. This is one of the West's premier whitewater rafting destinations and the roiling rapids of the Colorado River, as they course through Westwater Canyon into Utah, offer some of the area's most thrilling adventures.

Mount Garfield

The most noticeable landmark of this range is Mount Garfield, which is located in Grand Junction. This mountain is only a two-mile hike up, but the elevation change is 2,000 feet, making it a very challenging climb. The crusty dirt on the trail can be slick at times, so hiking poles are recommended, especially on the way down.
These trails are steep and challenging, and sturdy hiking shoes are recommended due to the rocky terrain and unstable footing. Despite the strenuous climb, however, hikers attest to the spectacular views at the top, making the trek well worth the effort.
